In my FIRST EVER piece for my website, I will be going over FIVE players who could potentially be on the move over the Winter Transfer Window. I would love to know your opinions on my 5 selections and I’d appreciate if this could be shared through Twitter “X”.
Ciaran McGuckin || Rotherham United
For my first selection, I’ve gone with a player who may not be familiar with all readers but one who I urge people to take a look into; Rotherham United’s Ciaran McGuckin is a star-in-the-making and could make waves in the second half of the 2024/25 season.
The 21 year-old, Northern-Irish forward could leave The Millers, on loan, this January, with a number of League Two and National League clubs interested in the young striker.
He spent a short spell on loan at Yeovil Town, in the National League, where he scored 3 goals in 6 game for The Glovers, who would love to get him back on loan for the season, or potentially a permanent deal.

Josh Stones || Wigan Athletic
The second player on the list is Wigan Athletic forward, Josh Stones, who has spent time on loan in the National League, with Oldham Athletic, for a short spell of this season.
The 21 year-old striker has been excellent in both spells at Oldham, scoring 8 goals and assisting 2, across just 12 games! He’s a forward who would bring a lot to plenty of sides in League Two, a player who is likely to leave Wigan on loan or permanently, this January.
Despite Oldham’s best efforts, it seems unlikely that Stones will return to The Latics this January, reported interest from a host of League Two sides, such as Chesterfield and Bradford City, could tempt him away.

Cedwyn Scott || Notts County
I’ve gone for another forward in my third pick. Cedwyn Scott is a player who will be disappointed with how he’s struggled to step up to the League Two level, with the rise of Notts County. A large part of this may be due to the success of Alassana Jatta in the past 12 months.
Scott is a player who I could see leaving County for game-time this transfer window, potentially having to drop back into the National League, to rebuild his confidence and form. I’m not sure whether the 27 year-old forward would leave on loan or a permanent.
I could see a magical return to Gateshead suiting Scott perfectly; he scored 25 goals for the club back in the 2021/22 season, helping The Heed win promotion up into the National League.
Gateshead have already lost their top scorer this Winter; Owen Oseni left the side to sign for Scottish side, St Mirren for a reported fee of 65,000 pounds. He could be the perfect replacement for Gateshead, whether that be on a short-term deal or long-term deal.

Lewis Bate || Stockport County
Moving away from the forward players now, into the midfield, for one of the best midfielders in League One this season, Stockport County’s captain, Lewis Bate.
With the 22 year-old being under contract at Edgeley Park until 2027, Bate may be the most unlikely to leave on this list. Stockport would require a substantial 7-figure fee to even consider accepting.
Bate has attracted some interest from Championship clubs because of his brilliant ability and leadership qualities at such a young age.
It was reported that Frank Lampard’s Coventry City are one of the many admirers of the former Leeds United man.

Ethon Archer || Cheltenham Town
My final suggestion of the blog is someone who I have grown to love throughout the first half of this season. Cheltenham Town’s Ethon Archer has been a joy to watch in League Two because of his exciting play-style.
The 22 year-old all-action winger is someone who gets the crowd off their seats with his energetic style. He’s always looking to take on his man; superb in 1-on-1 situations versus a defender. His delivery from wide areas is superb and he loves to come inside getting shots off.
It was reported that Matt Bloomfield’s Wycombe Wanderers are interested in the former Torquay United winger, but he could end up at any League One club really.
A superb player, whose rise up the English pyramid is inspirational!

Thankyou for reading. As I previously mentioned, I’d appreciate any feedback or support on my FIRST EVER piece for my website. Any shares would be massively appreciated as well!
